Challenge
A large institution in Bucharest was seeking a short-term cold store unit as a back-up during retrofit on its existing walk-in refrigeration room. Used for frozen food storage, the cold store serves the kitchen of a large office canteen. A secure and reliable solution was needed to ensure there would be no disruption to canteen operations.
Solution
The local Trane Rental Services team worked closely with the customer to determine their exact needs – both at a technical level and in terms of easy operation for the staff who would be using the cold store.
The organisation required adherence to very strict international standards and regulations. Requirements and conditions also included:
• Specific temperatures
• Limited space on site
• Limited access
• Available power sources and
• Back-up power facilities.
Following discussions and site visit, the Rental team recommended a 20ft ISO Trane C-STORE G refrigeration container to provide low temperatures of -30°C.
The C-Store G unit is a highly sustainable, energy-efficient frozen storage solution using low GWP refrigerants and featuring an advanced temperature management control system.
Results
The 24 cubic metre C-Store G unit is the perfect choice for demanding applications in a wide temperature range from -30°C to +30°C setpoint, reachable at any ambient conditions up to +50°C. Trane Rental Romania’s Bucharest customer is very satisfied with the team’s collaborative approach and robust solution. The installation was carried out in record time. Less than two hours after Trane Rental’s arrival on site, the catering staff had been fully trained on how to use the unit and the required frozen temperature of -30°C was reached.
