Building and installation managers increasingly need to study real-time data alongside trend information in order to manage their installations more efficiently and be prepared for any upcoming events.
Trane equipment can now publish running conditions data back to a cloud-based server – either natively, or through a simple controls retrofit.
Fully secured and GDPR-compliant, Trane's cloud infrastructure combines both fully-secured servers, hosted by AWS, a leading datacenter management service, as well as online gateways that include the most advanced IT technology in order to streamline and secure connection back to servers.
All data is encrypted end-to-end with one-way data flow from job site to cloud, reducing the risk of having entry points accessed on LANs. MFA (Multi Factors Authentication) increase security still further.
Using Trane infrastructure also ensures that the latest security technologies are applied to the system, with regular firmware component upgrades. This leaves operators free to focus on using the data to drive their assets.
Connected Services Level 1: Web UI
Trane offers clients a convenient and simple way of operating HVAC equipment and systems through a web browser. This enables clients to monitor and interact with their system without needing to be on site.
How will Trane connect the HVAC equipment and system?
A gateway is installed on site between units and the client's LAN or the Internet. When connection to the Internet over the client's LAN is not possible, 4G routers are put in place ensuring a fully-secured connection. Some of Trane latest HVAC equipment can also connect directly to the LAN / 4G routers without the need for a gateway.
Systems are connected through Trane secured servers, known as Trane Connect – providing additional flexibility. Clients are able to visualize system information conveniently via a single dashboard, or several dashboards that focus on specific aspects of system operation, such as temperature monitoring, energy consumption, or overall system performance.
Connected Services Level 2: Digital Maintenance
Increased inspections of critical HVAC equipment and systems: With an increasing reliance on HVAC systems and need for continuity of service, close monitoring is required to ensure optimal efficiency and prevent downtimes.
Trane Connected Services Level 2 allows for an increased number of equipment Inspections through the year, without the need for service engineers to visit the site. Digital inspections provide running data so that equipment can be monitored remotely.
Dedicated expertise from Trane experts: With the digital expertise option, Trane experts can assess systems ''on the fly'' (during working hours) and can then offer recommendation for improved management, operation or repair of the HVAC system
Connected Services Level 3: Optimization 4.0
Energy Consumption monitoring at a glance: ‘’Maintenance 4.0 / TIS’’ involves collecting live data from the various HVAC equipment under our Tracer SC System Controller, and securely bringing this to a remote application server. This raw data is analyzed by both automated analytics software as well as our technical HVAC experts, providing pertinent information about your HVAC system performance.
The scope of supply includes:
• Tracer SC setup to accommodate data harvesting and hosting onto Trane secured servers
• Automated analytics setup on Trane Secured Servers
• Connection tests and validation
• Weekly connection to the system to check data is being collected properly
• Regular data analysis
• A monthly chiller performance report, per chiller in your asset
• A quarterly HVAC system performance report, including recommendations and suggestions.
Go beyond your local HVAC system performance: Trane Energy experts will compare your HVAC system energy performance profile against similar systems that have better results. Based on this comparison, Trane will work with you to plan required actions for your HVAC system installation, based on impact to the various KPIs defined for that particular application.
