Challenge

A pharmaceutical company based in Portugal was looking for superior performance unit to optimize the energy use of their installation. The customer wanted a multi-pipe system that could both cool to 7°C and heat to 45°C to accomodate the comfort cooling and heating needs of their capacity extension.

Solution

Our teams provided a Sintesis Balance CMAF 100 HE SN multi-pipe unit. Low consumption, reliable performance and comfort are the CMAF key design criteria providing exceptional value:

• Total Efficiency Ratio (TER) up to 8.2 = Highest in the industry
• Coefficient of Performance (COP) up to 3.35 = Highest levels of all air-sourced scroll multi-pipe units available on the European market.
• Unique Trane Adaptive Refrigerant System = Widest heating operating map
• Delivers hot water with temperatures up to +68°C
• Eurovent certified.

The unit was also fiited with options such as a single pump on the cold side and dual pump on the hot side, low ambient kit, BACnet card, EC fans and a water strainer on both sides.

Results

The company needed the best system to deliver simultaneous cooling and heating for comfort applications. They are very satisfied with Trane's multi-pipe installation also providing lower operating costs and flexibility.

Trane was not initially specified for this project but our EER and efficiency at part load, as part as Eurovent certification, made the difference against competition.
