The Dubai Airshow, held every two years, is renowned worldwide as one of the most significant and successful airshows in the industry. This prestigious event brings together the top players in the aerospace sector and offers a global platform to showcase their innovations. With its location near the Dubai World Central Airport, the Airshow attracts over 100,000 visitors and hosts more than 1,400 exhibitors from 95 different countries.
Not only is the Dubai Airshow a remarkable gathering of industry professionals, but it also acts as a catalyst for the aviation economy. Within just one week, billions of dollars worth of deals are signed, showcasing the immense impact it has on the aerospace sector.
In preparation for the 2023 Airshow, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), sought the expertise of Trane Rental for their temperature control needs. DWTC required large cold storage facilities, maintaining temperatures between -2°C and +5°C, to cater to numerous food outlets, satellite kitchens, and restaurants serving visitors and staff during the event.
Solution
The high ambient temperatures in Dubai present a unique challenge when it comes to storing and preserving food and beverages. To meet the critical temperature control requirements, Trane Rental collaborated closely with the venue and event organizers to assess the specific needs of the Dubai Airshow.
Taking into account the temperature requirements, size constraints, and power availability on-site, one of the key solutions we offered was the 20' C-STORE, a highly flexible unit with a temperature range of -40°C to +30°C. This versatile one-box solution provides precise temperature control, even in the challenging ambient conditions of Dubai. Moreover, it offers safeguarding against any potential outages, ensuring the preservation of product quality and increasing the usable box life. Six units were strategically distributed across various locations at the Airshow, providing convenient access to the food outlets, satellite kitchens, and restaurants.
