Challenge

Each year, Tasting Australia transforms Victoria Square into one of Adelaide’s most iconic food, wine and drink festivals. With producers, vendors, bar operations and thousands of visitors all converging in the one location, reliable behind-the-scenes infrastructure is critical to the event's success.

For the organisers, refrigerated storage needed to do more than maintain temperature. The solution had to be clean, modern, and presentation ready, while delivering reliable performance throughout the event. With everyone relying on temperature-controlled storage, there was no room for delays, equipment issues, or disruption. In a busy city location with a tightly managed build schedule, the customer needed a partner who could coordinate every detail and deliver with confidence.

Solution

Trane worked closely with the event team to deliver a tailored cold storage solution designed to match the scale and pace of Tasting Australia. The project included 5 x 20-foot cold stores, 3 x 10-foot cold stores, and 1 x 7-foot L-store to support bar operations.

Given the events central Adelaide location, careful coordination was essential. Trane’s Adelaide team managed both delivery and removal, ensuring the containers were positioned on site exactly when required and aligned with site access and construction timelines of Victoria Square.

The support extended beyond the equipment itself. Trane supplied shelving for all cold stores, including 30 shelving units delivered separately and installed to meet event requirements. The 7-foot L-store was customised with a beer line installation, providing convenient keg access to support efficient bar service during the event.

Results

It was a reliable and well-executed cold storage solution that helped the event run smoothly in one of Adelaide’s busiest public settings. Vendors had the refrigerated space they needed, bar operations were supported effectively, and the event team had confidence in the equipment from installation through to removal.
