A refugee centre in the southwest of Germany urgently needed to expand capacity to cope with a large influx of Ukrainians following the start of the war in 2022. The centre plays a key role in supporting refugees, providing food and accommodation as well as other services.
In early March 2022 – just two weeks after the Russian invasion – Trane Rental Services received an urgent call requesting a large additional cold store unit to help the centre swiftly expand its catering operation. The centre, which provides hundreds of meals, needs to store food products and ingredients at +8°C.
Solution
Trane Rental Germany was able to act very swiftly and, within 24 hours of the initial call, supplied a large 40-foot Magnum Plus containerized cold store.

Trane Rental’s rapid response meant the refugee centre was able to ramp up capacity very quickly. The initial rental period was for just four months but, with the continuing need to provide support to Ukrainian refugees, the rental period has now been extended indefinitely.
