Challenge

In the renovation of a historic museum in UK, the consultants were aiming to replace the gas boiler system with a fully electric system – without doing major works to equipment in the famous listed building.

Solution

Trane proposed a cascade system including two CXAX air-cooled Heat pumps to provide the base load and a City RTSF water-to-water Chiller boosting temperatures to 80°C leaving water temperature.

The units were installed at ground level adjacent to the building. Trane was also able to provide numerous options such as epoxy coated coils, soft start, and BACnet Interface. The solution included a very complete control offering from Trane to allow better operation, better control, better measurement and better optimization of the fully-integrated solution.

Results

Trane made the difference showing great responsiveness to the client's principal requirement for an efficient fully electric cascade heating system. The renovation project ensure the protection of the musem heritage and offers a comfortable climate to visitors. The museum is delighted with the installed sytem and keen to repeat business with our company.
