Challenge
A factory in France needed a new cooling system both for replacement of existing units and for equipping the cold storage rooms of a new building. The request for the cold rooms was a propylene glycol cooling water at -40°C.
Solution
Trane was selected for our expertise in low temperature HVAC systems. Trane Fance provided a solution ensuring the perfect conservation of products and market leading economy in energy consumption:
• 2 Sintesis RTAF145 air cooled chillers
• 2 x 230 kW cooling capacity
• 2 x 53 kW heating capacity
• R1234ze refrigerant with near-zero GWP
• Partial heat recovery
• Hydraulic kits and screw compressors on AFD
• Variable speed condenser fans.
Our process systems are designed to deliver maximum performance, at minimum energy consumption, in any condition - full load and part load.
Results
Our customer is very satisfied with the flexible installation that meets their performance requirements as well as their sustainability and budget targets.
The energy saving options provide additional savings. The Adaptive Frequency™ Drive enhances efficiency under part load conditions and improves capacity modulation. While Partial Heat Recovery combines the energy savings from heat recovery operation with the cost savings from installation and maintenance. The RTAF systems operate as standard chillers as long as heat is not required or can simultaneously produce chilled and hot water for use in the condensers of the CO2 units and for defrosting of negative evaporators.
Finally, Trane also makes the difference thanks to our unique service support.
