Challenge
A data center in Madrid, Spain – with a long history of collaboration with Trane – was looking for a new, more reliable, quiet and highly sustainable cooling system.
Solution
Trane's recommendation for this valued client was the installation of two RTAF 285 XE XLN units with total Glycol-Free cooling and R 1234ze refrigerant.
R1234ze refrigerant with an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) below one was an essential element in Trane's solution.
Equipped with Glycol-Free free cooling option allows to take advantage of low ambient conditions to help cool water in the HVAC system.
Results
The installed system has enabled the client to reduce energy and operating costs while increasing efficiency. Trane outstanding services and high-quality products were major differentiators – and similar projects have already been planned with the client at other sites across Spain.
