Sustainable thermal systems for Food and Beverage
Food & beverage processing and warehousing require low temperature cooling or freezing as well as high temperature heating. Thanks to breakthrough innovations, Trane wide range of freezing solutions enable the reuse of the freezing energy for (high temperature) heating, avoiding fossil fuel consumption.
A large portfolio of sustainable low temperature systems
Standardized chillers reach temperatures down to -30°C with:
• HFO R1234ze units from 90 kW to 1200 kW for all food and drink applications down to -8°C with monopropylene and -12°C with monoethylene, and
• R717 units up to 700kW for freezing requirements between -12°C and -30°C.
Freezing systems generally release their freezing energy to the ambient air. For combined freezing and heating needs, all Trane chillers include Heat Recovery as a standard option allowing the reuse of all freezing energy for heating purposes.
Trane process systems are designed to deliver maximum performance, at minimum energy consumption, in any conditions ‒ full load and part load.
Reliability is embedded in everything we do. All units leaving our factory are validated under real operating conditions at our European Research and Development Laboratory.

A unique opportunity to move to renewable energy heating
Trane cooling systems offer «Free Heating» while cooling. By reusing the energy extracted from the cooling process elevated to temperatures up to 80°C, consumption of fossil fuel and the related CO2 footprint can be significantly reduced. Operation and efficiency have been optimized to deliver high temperature hot water to use in heating, sanitary hot water, district heating or in heat recovery cascade systems.
